Anger is highly destructive for both your inner self as well as the relationships with others.This is an emotion and should be restricted to the level that it’s constructive and doesn't cause any harm. People with anger issues often feel as though they have no control over their anger, they reach a point and they just snap. It is only later that they feel the guilt and the shame of their reaction.
Here are a few tips that would prove effective in overcoming anger problems and help in being a calm state of mind:
Eliminate the negative term: Keep the negative terms like don’t, not, no and alike at bay for the fact that these put our focus on things that we don’t want. This really works as language is very powerful and has the power to influence our subconscious mind and ultimately our feelings. I often advice to replace the negative word with a word that lays a positive impact. Example: instead of saying “I don’t want war”, say “I want peace”.
Surrender: Mere surrender can ease a lot of problem. Surrender to our ego’s need to be right, to blame, to be spiteful, and to be revengeful. It is very necessary to become conscious, watch your thoughts and learn to separate your thoughts from your own identity. Just remember that this emotion called ‘anger’ has to be used at the right time and in the right amount.
Meditation: Meditation helps us in remaining centred, regardless of what is happening in the external environment. It helps in lowering the thought count drawing out inner wisdom. Experience a state of acceptance, peace and love through by making meditation a part of your daily routine.
Breathing Relaxation Techniques: The breathing techniques have been devised as in general people are shallow breathers and thus air only stays in the top of lungs. These techniques constitute the Deep breathing exercises that ultimately help in getting more oxygen into brain and rest of the body.
Laughter: Laughter is the best therapy! A smile or laugh has the tendency to wipe off all the anger and stress as it instantly lets you feel light-hearted and joyful.
